JAMES L. HOUSE, 55, was appointed senior region vice president – Egypt, Mid-Continent, Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and International New Ventures on June 1, 2016. He previously served as senior region vice president – Houston Region since June 2015 and as the U.K. region vice president and managing director of Apache North Sea since June 2006. House also served on the Council and Board of Oil & Gas UK, which is the leading representative organization for the U.K. offshore oil and gas industry. He chaired the UK Oil Spill Prevention and Response Advisory Group (OSPRAG) and the UK Production Efficiency Task Force.
House joined Apache in 1991 as a staff petroleum engineer responsible for assets located in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico. He moved to Cairo, Egypt, during 1996 when Apache established operations in Egypt and served as managing director of the joint venture Qarun Petroleum Company following other business development and engineering responsibilities. He transferred to Warsaw, Poland, in 1999 as managing director of Apache Poland. House returned to Egypt in 2001 to assume the position of managing director of the joint venture Khalda Petroleum Company following Apache’s acquisition of Repsol’s interest in various Western Desert concessions.
Prior to joining Apache, House worked for Amoco Production Company as a petroleum engineer in West Texas, Houston and New Orleans, La.
House holds bachelor of science degrees in petroleum engineering and mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. He completed the executive development program at Stanford University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
